Epitaxy-free 1.53 μm quantum dot laser

Abstract

We report lasing operation of solution-processed semiconductor quantum dot films at 1.53 μm. A solid quantum dot film was used inside a hollow-core optical fibre to form a whispering gallery mode resonator.
