Abstract

Optical properties of single-mode As2Se3 chalcogenide fibers are investigated for applications in the 1.55 µm wavelength range. The fiber exhibits large Kerr nonlinearity of ?=954W-1km-1 and large Brillouin gain coefficient of 6.2x10-9 m/W, 134 times larger than fused silica fiber.
