Abstract

We predict significant enhancement of the effective nonlinear coefficient of soft glass nanowires and nanostructured fibers by surrounding the cores with a nonlinear liquid. Using bismuth nanostructured fibers, γ as high as 3900W-1 km-1 is possible.
