Application of Digital Equalization in Optical Transmission Systems

Abstract

Digital Equalization found its way into optical transmission systems through the implementation of Maximum Likelihood Sequence Estimation (MLSE) in high end signal processing chips. Application results of this equalization technique are shown and discussed.
