Novel Concept for All-Optical Clock Recovery from NRZ Format PRBS Data Streams

Abstract

Synchronization of a self-pulsating PhaseCOMB-laser to NRZ data signals is demonstrated for the first time. The clock signal extracted from 40 Gb/s PRBS stream shows a good timing stability in a wide input power range.
