Abstract

We demonstrate thermo-optic wavelength-tunable Er3+/Yb3+ co-doped fiber amplifiers by using discrete in-line tunable short-pass tapered-fiber filters based on tunable material dispersion. The amplification can occur from 1460 nm to 1580 nm, covering both the S- and C- bands.
