Abstract

We demonstrate a novel all-optical 1310-nm to 1550-nm wavelength converter based on nonlinear polarization rotation in a single semiconductor optical amplifier. Error-free polarization insensitive 1310-nm to 1550-nm wavelength conversion is shown at 10-Gbit/s.
