Abstract

10Gb/s low power penalty (<0.5 dB) error-free transmission was achieved through 75km using a high-performance widely-tunable EAM/laser transmitter operating under negative chirp conditions. An integration-oriented quantum-well-intermixing process was employed for the realization of these devices.
