Polarization orthogonality preservation in DWDM cascaded arrayed-waveguide grating networks

Abstract

We demonstrate polarization multiplexing in cascaded arrayed-waveguide grating (AWG) networks. In particular, AWG channel mapping and temperature fluctuations for different states of polarization were investigated and orthogonality degradation found to be small and additive.
