Birefringence as a function of upper-cladding sub-layers in polymeric waveguides

Abstract

Polarization-dependent wavelength shifts in polymeric arrayed-waveguide gratings are found to be a function of the number of upper-cladding sublayers with a positive offset and a negative slope depending on the thickness of the sublayers.
