We developed a 40 Gb/s single-drive X-cut LiNbO3 optical modulator with a driving-voltage of 2 V. This modulator employs a novel thin-sheet LiNbO3 structure, and has high potential for suppressed dc-drift, zero-chirp, and long-term reliability.
