Abstract

We report on a novel photocurrent-assisted wavelength converter using a traveling-wave electroabsorption modulator which also provides electrical monitoring and regeneration capabilities. The proposed concept is demonstrated with 2.5-Gb/s NRZ and 10-Gb/s RZ data formats.
