Abstract

ONRAMP, Optical Network for Regional Access using Multi-wavelength Protocols, is a DARPA sponsored program to design and build a metro area optical network employing WDM and other technologies to enabling Gigabit Ethernet and faster services to the desktop.1 The ONRAMP testbed consists of a protection switched, bi-directional ring and a prototype collection—distribution network (CDN).
