Abstract

Error-free all-optical demultiplexing at 336 Gb/s has been achieved by using a hybrid- integrated Symmetric-Mach-Zehnder switch incorporating semiconductor optical amplifiers. A 3.0-ps switching window is opened by 1.5-ps control pulses, which keep the rising and falling edges of the switching window steep while minimizing the effect of intraband carrier dynamics in semiconductor optical amplifiers.
