Optimisation of optical receiver for 10 Gbit/s optical duobinary transmission system

Abstract

Optimisation of a receiver for an optical duobinary signal is studied numerically. It is shown that a conventional receiver is not optimum neither when a DCF is used before the receiver nor without DCF is used. The optimum receiver for optical duobinary is identified.
