Abstract

We reconstruct modal intensity distribution for several spatial modes of optical fiber using autocorrelation of ultrashort pulses in Mach-Zehnder interferometer. The modes of optical fiber are separated in time due to group velocity dispersion, and detected experimentally by observing the interference of modal field distribution with time gating reference field.
