Increasing line rate by combining ETDM and OTDM in a semiconductor Mach-Zehnder modulator

Abstract

Line rate is doubled by combining ETDM and OTDM techniques in a semiconductor Mach-Zehnder modulator. 20Gb/s optical signal is successfully generated using a 10GHz commercial module to multiplex two 10 Gb/s signals.
