Temperature Dependence of Chromatic Dispersion in Various Types of Optical Fibers

Abstract

Temperature dependence of chromatic dispersion is examined for various types of fibers. Its coefficient is found strongly dependent on dispersion slope, indicating that low dispersion slope transmission lines are desirable for future high bit-rate transmission.
