Numerical optimization of residual dispersion in dispersion-managed systems at 40 Gbit/s

Abstract

Through numerical simulations, we optimize the amount of residual chromatic dispersion in 40 Gbit/s single-channel links. It is found proportional to the nonlinear phase, and independent on fiber local dispersion and dispersion map.
