Abstract

A low-noise 1-W cladding-pumped Er/Yb fiber amplifier amplifies analog video signals from a 50-km supertrunk and delivers them to 256 fiber nodes in a standard HFC architecture or 512 fiber nodes in a FTTH/C system.
