Abstract

As the complexity of the network increases in wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) networking, two major potential problems associated with the amplifier are: first, a need for the control of the gain of erbium- doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs) due to circumstances such as faults adding and dropping of wavelengths and rerouting.
