Abstract

To benefit from low-cost Si and GaAs photodetectors and inexpensive polymer optical fibers (POFs) vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) emitting in the wavelength regime from 6501 to 780 nm are highly attractive light sources for optical interconnects.
