Abstract

Low-cost and mass-producibility are keywords for optical modules required to construct optical access network and high-speed data transmission network. Recently, new concept plastic modules using a short fiber with a ferule, which is put in a V-groove formed on a silicon-optical-bench (SOB) were reported from some groups.1,2
