Abstract
Stable broadband sources with high powers, low ripples, and short coherence lengths are desirable in several applications such as spectrum-sliced sources,1 sensing,2 and imaging.3 One common type of broadband source uses amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) from rare-earth-doped fibers. At low powers, these provide broadband sources, but quickly narrow as the power increases.
