Abstract

High-performance physical-contact angled polished connectors require the endface angle to be within ±0.2° of nominal.¹ Endface angle also is important in the loss performance of angle mechanical splices.² Therefore, an accurate measurement of the endface angle is of significant importance in characterizing the loss performance of such joints, which are used in many applications that require low-reflectance joints.
