Abstract
Uncoded NRZ at 2.488 Gbit/s is transmitted over 347 km cabled standard fiber, with a record span loss of 67 dB, using a booster, a preamplifier and a remotely pumped amplifier, with SBS suppression, SPM optimization and Raman gain.
