Abstract

The frequency stabilization of laser diodes is important for frequency division multiplexing (FDM) optical communications. To date, multichannel frequency stabilization schemes using Fabry-Perot interferometers locked to a transition line of Ar. or an absorption line of NH3, have been investigated.1,2 However, those schemes cannot cover a wide wavelength region because of their sinal1 number of lines, In addition, the stability of Fabry-Perot interferometers was insufficient because the path length was controlled mechanically.
