Abstract

Polarization reflectometry is the only technique for anisotropy measurements of installed optical cables. Spatial resolution of commercial reflectometers, however, is insufficient for this purpose. Another limitation is the low sensitivity of fast photodetectors that are used in time-domain reflectometers.
