Abstract

There is a growing requirement in the optical fiber industry for calibration standards. In particular, the accurate determination of geometrical parameters is essential for the development and design of high performance fiber systems. We report on work toward the development of chrome-on-glass calibration standards for refracted near field (RNF) and imaged near field (INF) geometry measurement.
