Frequency dependence of the harmonic distortion in InGaAsP distributed feedback lasers

Abstract

Lasers with a very low level of harmonic distortion are required in analog lightwave transmission systems. Harmonic distortion in high speed lasers for the modulation frequency above 2 GHz has been reported and explained based on the nonlinearity of the active region.1
