Abstract

A multiport laser diode module (MPLDM) will be used to convert electrical signals to optical signals and divide them into a number of optical fiber terminals in a satellite broadcasting system; it also will be useful in subscriber systems in optical communication. This paper reports the design and characteristics of a MPLDM made by utilizing a slab lens.
