Abstract

Integrated optic ring resonators have applications such as tunable wavelength selective filters and sensitive sensors. They have been demonstrated in photopolymerized PMMA waveguides,1 silver ion-exchanged waveguides in glass,2,3 and proton-exchanged lithium niobate.4 We reported earlier3 the fabrication of single-tap resonators on Corning 0211 glass. We achieved a finesse of 55 with an extraction efficiency of 33% in a ring with a free spectral range of 48 GHz. We report on a double-tap ring resonator also on Corning 0211 glass.
