Heat resistant optical fiber cable

Abstract

Fused silica material is known to be heat resistant, but for high-temperature applications of this material as an optical fiber, there are two problems: high- temperature fatigue and loss increase.1 In the present work, the high-temperature fatigue and loss increase of aluminum-coated fibers have been examined, and optical fiber cables have been designed based on the experiment. The cables have been fabricated and evaluated.
