Abstract

In optical subscriber lines, high-quality sounds and video signals are required. In conventional optical video transmission, sound signals have been transmitted by multicarrier FM.1 However, the video and sound were apt to be degraded in quality in such systems due to cross talk. Also it has been difficult to make the subscriber terminal equipment small because it contained many analog circuits.
