Abstract
Optical connectors usually consist of two plugs with ferrules supporting the fibers and an adaptor with an alignment sleeve. The optical characteristics, especially Insertion loss, depend on mechanical accuracy of the ferrule, and It takes ultrahigh precision machining technology to obtain low-loss connectors.
