Abstract

Mode mixing of components is one of the most important factors determining the performance of multimode fiber-optic systems, yet theory and measurements are still in an early stage. Information on mode conversion in graded-index fiber components is mostly derived from pulse measurements, which give no direct insight into the phenomena.1,2
