The Impact of Probabilistic Constellation Shaping on Channel Equalization with Constant Modulus Algorithm

Abstract

Analytical study shows that the convergence of constant modulus algorithm is related to the kurtosis of probabilistically shaped constellations. Monte-Carlo simulation verifies a large SNR penalty is incurred by shaping when the kurtosis approaches 2.
