Crosstalk Monitoring and Outage Prediction in Multi-core Fibers Based on Multi-task Deep neural network

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate multi-task neural network enabled simultaneous crosstalk monitoring and outage prediction for real-time transmission in multicore fibers. The estimated error of crosstalk monitoring is below 0.5dB, and accuracy of outage prediction reaches 98%.
