Comparative Studies of Atmospheric Turbulence Effects on Orbital Angular Momentum Beams

Abstract

Mode spectra of Laguerre-Gaussian, Bessel-Gaussian, and perfect vortex (PV) beams after free-space propagation in turbulent atmosphere are investigated. Numerical results show that PV beam has better tolerance to turbulence in higher-order azimuthal mode.
