Phase-preserving amplitude regeneration of optical 16QAM signals using a Mach-Zehnder interferometer on chip

Abstract

We study the Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) on chip and present a phase-preserving amplitude regeneration scheme using it. The error vector magnitude (EVM) for optical 16QAM signals can be reduced from 12.6% to 6.5%.
