Dynamic holograms as phase-conjugate buffers for digital volume holographic data storage

Abstract

Adding a dynamic hologram can allow a conventional volume holographic storage system to implement phase-conjugate readout without sacrificing hologram multiplexing. The materials requirements and systems impact of this dynamic “buffer” hologram are discussed.
