Abstract

Optically computed image processing for cervix cancer screening requires a system capable of locating objects based on multiple criteria, including nuclear size/shape, integrated optical density, and nucleoplasm-to-cytoplasm area ratio. An automated 4ƒ optical correlator finds interesting objects in the first stage of a two stage system [1] based on the size/shape of objects.
