Abstract

A 3 dB gain bandwidth of 60 nm was achieved for single-stage operation in the wavelength range from 1560 to 1620 nm using Lanthanum co-doped bismuth based Er doped fiber with only 200 -250 cm length, which exhibited power conversion efficiency of 30%. In addition, no increase in noise figure was observed at the wavelength region beyond 1610 nm.
