Abstract

A WDM channel selector consisting of arrayed wavegude grating multiplexers and semiconductor optical amplifiers has been developed based on monolithic integration techniques. Channel selection characteristics with a low closstalk of <-40 dB and an extinction ratio of >50 dB were obtained without insertion losses.
