Optimized Gain Distribution map for Low-noise Raman/EDF Hybrid Repeaters in Long Haul WDM Transmission

Abstract

We propose a novel Raman amplification management technique that can provide an optimum distribution map of net Raman gain for improving the noise performance. Our scheme is realized 1.2dB improvement of OSNR after hybrid repeaters more than 30nm signal-bandwidth.
