Abstract

The crosstalk in a new single-chip linear optical amplifier (LOA), based on gain clamping with a cross-cavity long-wavelength VCSEL, has been measured dynamically up to 20 GHz, achieving less than −25 dB crosstalk for all frequencies. This improved performance is compared to existing conventional and gain clamped SOAs.
