Abstract

We perform numerical simulations which include a high frequency pass filter (HPF) to demonstrate gain improvement in a Raman amplifier for signals with both low and high frequency shifts from the pump. Our simulations predict gain improvements in excess of 30 dB in practical amplification systems.
