Abstract

We report a novel L-band EDFA uses in-line tilted fiber Bragg gratings to filter the C-band ASE. This amplifier has a low external noise figure (<4.5 dB), high gain (>27 dB) over a 33 nm bandwidth, and high power conversion efficiency of 24.3%.
