Abstract

Abstract: The possibility of drastically expanding electrical regenerator spacing by nonlinear amplification is discussed. Inline phase-sensitive amplifiers can realize nonlinear amplification by using their phase-sensitive gain and optical Kerr effect in transmission fiber.
