Abstract

1310 nm gain-clamped semiconductor optical amplifiers equiped with distributed Bragg reflectors exhibit 21.3 dB optical gain, constant within 0.1 dB, up to 25 mW output power. Electrical signal distortion experiments demonstrate CATV-grade linearity of such devices for the first time.
